Cowboy Ninja Viking is such a cool name for a film. Especially a Chris Pratt film (aaah, the scope for poker-faced madness in this one). And if a report in The Hollywood Reporter is to be believed, Priyanka Chopra is joining the film opposite The Guardians of The Galaxy star. The film will by directed by TV veteran Michelle Maclaren – whose illustrious credits include episodes in Breaking Bad, Westworld, Better Call Saul and some episodes of Game Of Thrones – among the recent ones.
This news comes close on the heels of reports of the actor opting out of Salman Khan-starrer Bharat, the reason for which director Ali Abbas Zafar sneakily suggested was Chopra’s rumoured engagement to Nick Jonas. But now, the real cat seems to be out of the bag. A Chris Pratt movie, especially after the billion-dollar box office of the recent Jurassic World movie, this could prove to be a massive film for Chopra if she goes through with it.
The film is based on the comics by AJ Lieberman, which was adapted into a first draft script by Deadpool writers Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese. The film follows the adventures of a counter-intelligence agent with a multiple personality disorder – a cowboy, a ninja and a viking! With Pratt in the lead, this surely will have the curiosity of many.
Priyanka Chopra has already starred in this year’s A Kid Like Jake, alongside Jim Parsons and Claire Danes. She has shot for a film opposite Rebel Wilson and Liam Hemsworth called Isn’t It Romantic, and Cowboy Ninja Viking should take care of the blockbuster quotient of her CV for 2019. The film will release on June 28, 2019.
