The world was still mourning the death of famous Star Wars actress Carrie Fisher when her mother, Debbie Reynolds, passed away the very next day. According to Reynolds’ son, her last wish was to be with her daughter.

Carrie Fisher met her untimely demise after she went into cardiac arrest on December 23 while she was on an airplane. She spent her last few days recuperating in the hospital. She was 60 when she passed on December 27. Reynolds was pretty shaken about having to live through her daughter’s death. According to TMZ, she told her son, Todd Fisher that she wanted to be with her daughter. “I miss her so much, I want to be with Carrie,” she said.

She was at her residence in Beverly Hills when she had a stroke and was rushed to a hospital. She died at the age of 84. Todd Fisher confirmed her death saying that his mother was “with Carrie.”

Before her death, she took to social media to appreciate the fans’ support after Fisher’s death. “Thank you to everyone who has embraced the gifts and talents of my beloved and amazing daughter. I am grateful for your thoughts and prayers that are now guiding her to her next stop. Love Carries Mother,” she said in a Facebook post.

Reynolds herself was an iconic actress back in her days. She starred in various classics like How the West Was Won, The Unsinkable Molly Brown, Charlotte’s Web but, her most popular work was in the 1952 musical Singin’ in the Rain. Reynolds also featured in several films with her daughter as the two shared a close relationship. Carrie first appeared with her on stage in the 1973 Broadway revival Irene.
