Emma Watson is set to replace Jennifer Lawrence and become the world’s highest-paid actress

Beauty and the Beast actress Emma Watson is about to dethrone Jennifer Lawrence to become the highest-paid actress in the world.

Belle from the Beauty and the Beast may not have been a real princess but the actress, Emma Watson, sure is living like one. Watson, who recently celebrated her 27th birthday, is all set to become the highest-paid actress in the world. She owes her latest title to Bill Condon’s latest Disney live-action film as it had a huge part to play in Watson’s new accomplishment.

For her role as Belle, Watson was paid $2.5 million (Rs 16.15 crores) beforehand which may not sound like a lot but, there’s more. As per her deal, Watson also gets a share of the film’s earnings and we all know that it was a huge commercial success across the globe. According to the Evening Standard, the producers are yet to pay $18.9 million (Rs 122.15 crores) to the actress.

Beauty and the Beast had earlier become the highest-grossing live-action musical of all time which is an accomplishment in itself. Also, it is the first movie of this year to cross the $1 billion mark. Currently, the title of the highest-paid actress in the world is held by Jennifer Lawrence, $46 Million (Rs 297.18 crores).

Watson made a pretty wise decision when she chose to go for the role. She says that she only accepts roles that “feel right” to her. She also said that Belle was the perfect character for her. “She’s so fierce and she’s so smart, she’s just the coolest,” Watson stated on a recent episode of Lorraine.

Earlier, Emma Watson had also stuffed her pockets with a ginormous amount of $63 million (Rs 407.17 crores) for her role as Hermione Granger in J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter series.
