Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight series, as awful as it was, was a huge commercial success. The novel series went on to become one of the best-selling books so, it comes as no surprise that Meyer will be writing a spin-off for the popular series. The love saga of Bella Swan and Edward Cullen will be getting a spin-off of its own. Unfortunately (or fortunately, we can’t really decide), the story will not mainly focus on Bella and Edward.
So what will this story be about? Here are some (rumoured) details about the upcoming book:
The book will be followed by a movie adaptation
It has been said that Meyer’s upcoming book will be written with the intention of making it into a movie. Twilight actor Robert Pattinson, who played the role of Edward Cullen, has said that he will be very much interested in becoming a part of the spin-off.
Kristen Stewart will not be a part of this spin-off
While Pattinson has said that he would love to be a part of this upcoming project, his co-star Kristen Stewart (Bella) doesn’t seem to be that thrilled about the idea. Apparently, Stewart thinks the Twilight series came to a perfect ending and she wouldn’t like to work on dragging it further.
The book has been titled The Rook
Rumour has it that Meyer is working on a project with film production company Lionsgate for Hulu network. The said project is to be a TV series which has been rumoured to be titled ‘The Rook’. Now, this chess metaphor is pretty vague but, we hope you can draw a connection…
The queen and the pawn on the cover of Breaking Dawn were meant to symbolise Bella’s character development from the latter to the former. Although we don’t know who the ‘Rook’ is going to be, fans have surmised that it could be Bella’s daughter.
The spin-off focuses on Renesmee, Jacob Black
It has been said that Bella’s daughter, Renesmee (Mackenzie Foy), could be the prime focus of the Twilight spin-off. Aside from her, Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner) will also an important element in the plot.
