An era is about to end. When Avengers: Endgame releases this Friday, it is officially going to culminate (arguably) Hollywood’s biggest spectacle – the third phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). With close to 76 characters taking part in a film that took place in at least three different planets, Infinity War beautifully set the stage for Endgame to climax like a true magnum opus. And with the Endgame premiere happening barely a few hours ago, the first reactions around the film have begun to come in. And, there is no doubt… that the hype is strong with this one.
Man #AvengersEndgame kicked my ass. It was an epic conclusion to 11 years of films. It had laughs, incredible action and absolute emotional rollercoaster. It was the series finale for these cast of characters that I had been hoping for. Congrats to all for pulling off the feat.

#AvengersEndgame is A LOT. Too much at times. But wow the payoff is huge. Left me proud to have invested over a decade in a franchise that delivers an inspiring exploration of what it means to be family & a hero. (Endgame also now has one of my favorite shots in the entire MCU.)

Even some of the most discerning critics in Hollywood haven’t been able to contain their feelings, allowing themselves an outlet in a tweet or two. Being described as the ‘most emotional’ films made by Marvel, many tweets have mentioned how a majority of the audience left the premiere with tears in their eyes. It’s a culmination on 11 years and 22 films, after all. So many of those first cards, that were laid out more than a decade ago, are about to see one dramatic end.
Imagine the best possible version of #AvengersEndgame and somehow the film still surpasses all expectations. I cried 5-6 times. It’s the most emotional, most epic, MCU film. A tribute to ten years of this universe and holy shit the great fan service in this movie. Soooo good.

Bring the tissues – #AvengersEndgame is a tearjerker. From the opening moments that reckon with the fallout of The Snap to a heartbreaking twenty minute cello solo that I gotta say Chris Evans absolutely nails, this movie is more emotional than any Marvel, or superhero film, ever

Endgame has been appreciated for its humour, which doesn’t seem like the automatic choice of tone for a film beginning in the aftermath of a genocide. But anyone familiar with the works of the Russo brothers (Director-duo) like Community, know how they can be morbidly funny. There’s also confirmation by a few tweets that almost all the footage we’ve been subjected to, thanks to the films 15 trailers/supercuts/superbowl cuts are from the film’s first 15 minutes.
While watching #AvengersEndgame, I laughed so loud, I clapped with so much force, and I cried so hard. The movie exceeds every expectation and is the perfect culmination of the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe.

90% of the #AvengersEndgame footage that’s been officially released is from first the 15 minutes: Other than the actual surprises, the biggest surprise to me was how funny it is

wow, I feel like crying it was amazing! #AvengersEndgame

#AvengersEndgame is a masterful epic – a true culmination of 22 films that not only concludes the story, but expands upon it. You’ll learn more about the other movies while this one unfolds. If Infinity War is the brawn, Endgame is the brains. And wow, what an ending! pic.twitter.com/94ttBUQKJ0

It honestly seemed impossible, but Marvel managed to wrap up over a decade of storylines in #AvengersEndgame without sacrificing any of the action, heart, humor, or insatiable fucking the fans have come to expect from this franchise. To everyone at Marvel – bravo. You nailed it.

Wow. #AvengersEndgame is staggering. It’s surprising in ways I never saw coming and satisfying in ways I didn’t realize I needed. It’s kind of the ultimate gift to fans of the MCU. It’s very long and has a few hiccups, but is everything you’re hoping for and more. pic.twitter.com/RO97kw9fs5

Just like Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame is expected to take the Indian fans by storm. A ticketing platform announced how Endgame was the first film to have seen more than a million bookings in under 24 hours, creating a record for an Indian release. There are unconfirmed reports of most multiplex chains witnessing a 90-95% occupancy in theatres across the country, through the weekend. Infinity War touched the other-worldly figure of $2 billion worldwide (only achieved previously by James Cameron & Star Wars: A Force Awakens). If the hype is to be believed, Endgame will only be bigger.
It’s the end of an era on April 26, things are about to change forever.
