Fifty Shades Darker revealed its second trailer on Wednesday and it seems that the film is planning to out-do the last one. A sequel to 2015 erotic romantic drama film Fifty Shades of Grey, Fifty Shades Darker too is based on E.L. James’ Fifty Shades trilogy which explores the themes of BDSM.
Starring Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson as Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele, the film is one of the highly anticipated films of 2017. The Fifty Shades trilogy revolves around Steele, a college graduate, as she strikes up a sexual relationship with a young business magnate, Grey. Grey pushes her to explore BDSM in what can be described only as a glorified abusive relationship which starts to repel Anastasia.
“I want you back,” Grey pleads with Anna for forgiveness and to re-ignite the spark that was once their… well, I can’t call it love. ‘Fling’ seems more appropriate. After dating the man whom she had dumped for his lack of emotions, Anna jumps back to him because that’s OBVIOUSLY the healthy thing to do. With Grey, she then takes their sexual relationship to a whole other level. Nope. Completely believable situation going on around here. Nothing’s off-base.
“Take them off,” Grey asks Anna to remove her panties at a restaurant and she obliges. In another scene, he fingers her inside a crowded elevator as she holds back a squeal. From the looks of it, she has given into her darker side in an attempt to drag Christian out of his “unconventional desires”. Except that she has laid out a bunch of ground rules; “no rules, no punishments, and no more secrets.”
The “no secrets” bit creates a new rift between these fucked-up lovers as Christian seems to continue hiding things from Anna. Anna encounters Elena Lincoln (Kim Basinger), Grey’s salon partner, who apparently introduced him to BDSM. When Anna claims that Christian has changed and BDSM isn’t something that “he wants anymore,” Lincoln says, “But it’s what he needs.”
Christian brings more trouble for Anna as his rival at Seattle Independent Publishing, Jack Hyde hires her as his assistant and attempts to seduce her. He tries to convince her that Grey isn’t the right man for her which, anyone with a right mind would agree to btw. Honestly, this girl is a classic mix of naivete with a butt-load of horny.
One thing is for sure, Fifty Shades Darker will heat things up for you on the coming Valentine’s Day as it releases on February 10.
