Uh oh! Despicable Me 3 promises us not one, not two but three super villains fighting it out: Gru, his blonde brother, Dru and Balthazar Bratt. Starring Steve Carell as Gru, Kristen Wiig as Lucy Wilde and an entire army of minions, Despicable Me 3 also stars the lovely Trey Parker who gave us Comedy Central’s hit series, South Park. Trey will be the voice of Balthazar Bratt, the super villain against whom Dru and Gru have joined forces.
As if one supremely adorable former villain-who-stole-the-moon-for-a-bit wasn’t difficult enough to handle, we’ve got not one but two handsome additions to this crazy mix.
The trailer gives us a glimpse of Bratt in action as he steals a diamond with a Rubik’s cube as a prop. A former child-star, Bratt seems rather pre-occupied with his past stardom. Joining the party (in defeating a villain, no less) are Gru and Lucy’s adoptive daughters Margo, Edith and Agnes.
The film has been directed by Kyle Balda and Pierre Coffin and co-directed by Eric Guillon. The third installment of the Despicable Me series will hit theatres five years after the previous film. Despicable Me 3 hits theatres on June 30, 2017.
