A third Thor movie—who knew it could get this exciting? But then, the director Taika Waititi has ensured that people will rave about Thor: Ragnarok after watching the wild teaser of a much-anticipated Marvel film that promises action and drama to the core.
Ragnarok is a continuation of the events following the Avengers flick, Age of Ultron. Thor (Chris Hemsworth) is chained, left imprisoned in another world with his hammer—his trustworthy Mjolnir—broken in a fight against Hela, the Asgardian goddess of death (Cate Blanchett). To return and save Asgard, he must fight and participate in intergalactic gladiatorial battles. Oh, and also defeat the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo). Not kidding!
Director Waititi had long promised that Thor: Ragnarok will be Marvel’s most “out there” film and conceded that the script and the theme of the movie were constantly changing. He even hinted that there were elements of a buddy movie between Thor and the Hulk. Going by the teaser, the film does seem to be wicked fun.
Chris Hemsworth looks all crisp and sexy in his new short hair do. Tom Hiddleston is back as Loki, and watches gleefully at his brother duels with Hulk, while Oscar winner Cate Blanchett is playing the evil Hela. The movie will also be featuring Benedict Cumberbatch in a cameo.
And, just like me, others couldn’t hide their euphoria.
