Jai Lava Kusa had a good opening weekend at the Box Office as the film grossed approximately Rs 75 crore in its four-day run in India. The Jr NTR film has fared the best at Andhra Pradesh and Nizam (Telangana & Hyderabad), wherein the gross collection falls in the range of Rs 61.20 crore.
The opening day collection of Jai Lava Kusa was Rs 38.60 crore, which is one of the highest openers of all time down south, however, as expected the collections did witness a significant drop over the weekend. The major reason for the drop over the weekend was because the opening day collection of the films down south included the fixed rental paid by the exhibitors to the distributors.
The distributor share of Jai Lava Kusa stands at Rs 48.50 crore (approximately), with there being a long journey ahead for the film to be termed profitable for the distributors.

Andhra Pradesh and Nizam: Rs 39.00 crore
Karnataka and Tamil Nadu: Rs 9.50 crore
The all India distribution rights of the film were sold for a massive sum of Rs 80 crore, however, the distributors from Karnataka and Tamil Nadu have almost recovered their investment. The film needs further share of around Rs 28 crore from Andhra Pradesh and Nizam, to break even and a lot would depend on how the film fares at the Box Office after the release of SPYder on Wednesday.
To be termed a universal hit, a healthy trend from Monday is essential at Andhra Pradesh and Nizam. The audience word of mouth seems to be reasonably good and the same has resulted in a steady trend so far.
