Mohanlal’s second release of 2017, 1971 Beyond Borders is just 2 days away for its theatrical release. Directed by director-turned-actor Major Ravi and produced by Haneef Mohammed under his banner Red Rose Creations, the war-thriller is Malayalam superstar’s fourth film in 8 months. The film, which is set in two time periods depicts the story of Indo-Pak war of 1971.
While 1971 Beyond Borders is gearing up for its theatrical release, Mohanlal fans have a reason to rejoice as the film has successfully completed its censorship process. The Central Board Of Film Certification (CBFC) has cleared 1971 Beyond Borders and much to the delight of the makers and Lalettan fans, the film has got a clean ‘U’ certificate.
The makers shared the update on Thursday on Facebook. They also revealed the time duration of the Mohanlal starrer as 2 hours 15 minutes and 46 seconds. Interestingly, 1971 Beyond Borders will feature specially designed virtual reality (VR) experiences, making it the first ever for a Malayalam film.
1971 Beyond Borders also stars an ensemble star cast including Renji Panicker, Neha Khan, Srushti Dange, Sudhir Karamana, Saiju Kurup, Priyanka Agrawal and Zoya Zayed Khan. The music of the film has been jointly composed by Siddharth Vipin, Gopi Sunder, Najim Arshad and Rahul Subramanian while Sujith Vasudev cranks the camera.
1971 Beyond Borders also marks the fourth instalment of Major Mahadevan series. Earlier, Mohanlal had portrayed the same role in the Major Ravi’s previous films including Keerthi Chakra, Kurukshetra, and Kandahar.
