Kerala Box Office will see an interesting battle as the new Mammootty starrer Puthan Panam is slated to release tomorrow. Interestingly, the film is arriving 13-days after the release of another Mammootty film, The Great Father.
Directed by Ranjith and jointly produced by Ranjith, Abraham Mathew, and Arun Narayanan, under their home banner Three Colour Cinema, Puthan Panam revolves around the story of black money in the backdrop of current financial scenario in India. The film also marks the acting debut of Master Suraj. Puthan Panam also stars Renji Panicker, Mamukoya, Siddique, Saikumar, Hareesh Kanaran, Abu Salim, Iniya , Sheelu Abraham and Jennifer Antony.
Mamookka will be seen donning the role of Nithyananda Shenoy, a middle-aged man who hails from Kumbala, Kasargode district from Kerala. The superstar’s Kasargode dialect from the film was an instant hit upon its trailer release.
Meanwhile, Mammootty’s The Great Father is continuing its fabulous run at the Kerala Box Office. The film, which had released on 30 March 2017 has already emerged as a blockbuster at the Box Office.
The Great Father featured the Malayalam superstar in the titular role of David Nainan Vedippara, while Tamil actor Arya essayed the role of Andrews Eapen Umbakkal – a character with shades of gray. The film also stars Sneha, Baby Anikha of Bhaskar The Rascal fame, Shaam, Mia George, Malavika Mohanan, Manikandan Achari and IM Vijayan.
The Great Father has so far crossed Rs 25 crores at the Box Office and was expected to dominate with Vishu holidays starting from this weekend. However, with Puthan Panam releasing tomorrow, it will be an interesting battle of the Mammootty starrers at the Kerala Box Office.
