Looks like there is no end for Malayalam superstar Mohanlal’s record-breaking spree at the Kerala Box Office. After creating wonders with his 2016 Dusshera release, Pulimurugan, Mohanlal’s 2017 release Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol follows the same magic at the Kerala Box Office. Directed by Vellimoonga fame Jibu Jacob and produced by Sophia Paul under the banner of Weekend Blockbusters, the family entertainer was released on 20 January 2017.
Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol had continued its strong dominance on its fourth Friday as well. The Mohanlal starrer had three major new releases at the Kerala Box Office this week including Prithviraj’s Ezra and two non-Malayalam releases, Suriya’s Singam 3 and Akshay Kumar starrer Jolly LLB 2. However, the three releases had not at all affected the Lalettan starrer at the Kerala Box Office.
To make the fourth Friday even more special, Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol also crossed the magical 10000 shows at the Kerala Box Office. The film also emerged as the second fastest film to complete the same shows at the Kerala Box Office. Interestingly, Mohanlal’s Pulimurugan still holds the record of fastest film to complete 10000 shows in Gods own country.
The Mohanlal-Meena starrer, which marks the second Malayalam outing of Kasaba fame Neha Saxena stars an ensemble supporting cast including Anoop Menon, Alencier Ley Lopez, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Sharafudheen, Srindaa, Sudheer Karamana and Bindu Panicker. Munthirivallikal Thalirkumbol also stars Jacobinte Swargarajyam fame Aima Rosmy Sebastian and Philips And The Monkey Pen fame Sanoop Santhosh.

Meanwhile, Pulimurugan is still running to packed houses in more than 25 centers across the Kerala. The action entertainer, which had released on 7 October 2016 is the first Rs. 150 crore grosser in the history of Malayalam cinema.
