Nivin Pauly’s Vishu gift to his fans Sakhavu released today. Directed by Sidhartha Siva and produced by B Rakesh under the banner of Universal Cinema, the film stars Nivin Pauly in dual roles as a young leader Krishnakumar and Sakhavu Krishnan. The film, a campus political entertainer, stars Gayathri Suresh, Aparna Gopinath and Aishwarya Rajesh in female lead roles.
Surprisingly, Sakhavu has taken an extremely good opening at the Kerala Box Office. The film was expected to take an average opening as the promotions for the film was not up to the mark compared to Nivin Pauly’s previous films. But once again, the ‘Nivin Pauly’ stardom has worked for the film as the film has opened to excellent occupancy across the cinemas of Kerala. Also, Sakhavu is Nivin Pauly’s first film in a lead role since Action Hero Biju, which had released in February 2016. The excellent opening during morning/noon shows along with the good advance booking for the evening/night shows prove that Nivin Pauly might get his biggest opener till date with Sakhavu.

Sakhavu has been praised for the performances of the Premam actor and Aishwarya Rajesh, who portrays Janaki, the wife of Sakhavu Krishnan in the film. People have also praised the BGM score of Prashanth Pillai. However, there were few who said that veteran actor Sreenivasan was wasted in the film in his role of a doctor.

Sakhavu also stars an ensemble star cast including Sudheesh, Aliyar, V K Prakash, Santhosh Keezhattoor, Althaf, Baiju, Musthafa and Sreelakshmi. Looks like another hit for Nivin Pauly at the Kerala Box office.
