Friday saw the release of Malayalam film Take Off at the Kerala Box Office. Written and jointly produced by Anto Joseph Film Company and Rajesh Pillai Films, the film marks the directorial debut of noted film editor Mahesh Narayanan.
Mahesh has also written the script of Take Off along with renowned Malayalam writer P V Shajikumar. Take Off stars Parvathy, Kunchacko Boban, Fahadh Faasil and Asif Ali in lead roles. The film also marks the Malayalam debut of Airlift fame Prakash Belawadi.
Take Off is based on the real-life incidents which happened post the kidnapping of 46 Indian nurses by the Islamic State in Tikrit, Iraq in 2014. As expected, Take Off has opened to excellent reviews from the audience and critics alike. In fact, the film saw one of the best reviews for a Malayalam film since Mohanlal starrer Drishyam.
Take Off has been praised for almost every aspect of the film. Be it the engaging story, background score or the performances of its leading cast, Take Off has found appreciation from every corner. Parvathy’s performance as a 31-year-old nurse, Sameera has already become the current topic among Malayalam film industry and there won’t be any surprise if she nominate for National awards for best actress next year. The film has also been praised for the performances of Kunchacko Boban, Fahadh Faasil and Asif Ali as well.
The great reviews have translated into good numbers at the Kerala Box Office as Take Off had already minted Rs. 1.70 crore in two theatrical days. Though the film opened to low collections on Friday morning shows, the excellent word-of-mouth has worked tremendously in film’s favour at the Kerala Box Office.
As per early trends, Take Off is all set for a huge Sunday at the Kerala Box Office.
