2017’s first Malayalam blockbuster, Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol is nearing 50-days of its theatrical days at the Kerala Box Office. Directed by Jibu Jacob off Vellimoonga fame and produced by Bangalore Days maker Sophia Paul, the family entertainer was released on 20 January 2017 across the cinemas of Kerala.
While the film is set to hit the half century at the Kerala Box Office, it has set a unique record overseas for its lead actor Mohanlal.
Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol, which had released on 16 February 2017 is continuing its dream at the UAE Box Office even after completing 21 theatrical days of its UAE release. The film has already crossed the coveted Rs 10 crore mark across the cinemas of UAE. Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol also emerged as the second Mohanlal film in a row to do so. Lalettan’s previous release, Pulimurugan too minted Rs 10 crore at the UAE Box Office, that too in its opening weekend.
At the end of its 21 theatrical days, Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol has grossed a good Rs 10.50 crore at the UAE Box Office.
The film marks the collaboration of one of the celebrated Malayalam couple, Mohanlal and Meena, after their 2013 blockbuster Drishyam. The film also stars an ensemble star cast including Kasaba fame Neha Saxena, Anoop Menon, Alencier Ley Lopez, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Sharafudheen, Srindaa, Sudheer Karamana and Bindu Panicker.
The film also stars Jacobinte Swargarajyam fame and Dubai resident Aima Rosmy Sebastian and Bhaskar: The Rascal fame Sanoop Santhosh as Mohanlal’s kids.
