Parineeti Chopra defends Sushant Singh Rajput's outburst over a question on Kulbhushan Jadhav

It looks like Parineeti Chopra is also following Sushant's footprints, as the actress has also decided to not talk about the 'national interest' issue

Recently, during the trailer launch event of his upcoming film Raabta, actor Sushant Singh Rajput was asked to comment on the ongoing Kulbhushan Yadav death sentence row, to which the actor refused to comment and it gave birth to a huge controversy.

The entire question and answer round turned into a heated conversation between a senior journalist said that it is important for the actor to have an opinion as the issue is of national importance. The video of a miffed Sushant went viral on the social media and people started criticizing the actor for getting so angry.

But it looks like Parineeti Chopra is also following Sushant’s footprints, as the actress has also decided to not talk about the ‘national interest’ issue. The actress was present with her co-star Ayushmann Khurrana for the launch of the song Ye Jawaani Teri from their forthcoming film Meri Pyaari Bindu.

When asked about the matter, she told reporters: “I think I am the least important person to comment on the matter. Our government is dealing with it the way they should, so they are the best judge.” Parineeti Chopra said she is not an important person to comment on Pakistan awarding death sentence to alleged Indian spy Kulbhushan Yadav.

Asked if having an opinion is important for them being public figures, the actress said: “I think to each of his own. Just because my voice can reach a wider audience, it is not important for me to have an opinion on things which are not of my interest.”

She added: “For instance, if I am a sports enthusiast, and something is happening in sports I can comment on that because I have an interest. But no one should force me to have a comment or opinion on matters just because I am on a public platform. There are people who want to comment and they are free to do that. At the end of the day, we are living in a democratic country and we must not forget that. We have a choice to express.”

Well, we must say the actress has a valid point to make.
