She’s rubbed shoulders with the likes of Dwayne Johnson, is doing an American show and has appeared on the Time Magazine. Priyanka Chopra, who has taken Hollywood by storm, leaves no stone unturned to dispel stereotypes about India.
Recently, Priyanka appeared on popular American comedian Chelsea Handler’s show. During the interaction, Handler asked the National Award winning actor whether she knew English during her first visit to the United States when she was 12. To this, Priyanka retorted in a classy way.
“10% of India’s population speaks English which is 1.3 million. So when you go to India, you will encounter a lot of people who speak English,” the 34-year-old actor told Handler. However, she erred on the calculation as 10% of India’s population amounts to 130 million (assuming India is a 1.3-billion strong nation.) Nevertheless, her answer was enough to win hearts across all spheres.
Later, the Mary Kom fame actor took to Twitter inviting Handler to India.
You are so much fun @chelseashow. Thank you for having me. Can’t wait for you to experience India…you’re going to love it. Big hug! https://t.co/KKfbMVy9q5

More than this, the Desi Girl does not shy away from speaking her mind irrespective of the consequences. The fans have not forgotten how she silenced the trolls over the armpit controversy. Also, her remark on intolerance and freedom of speech last year created a flutter in India.
“It is not just about this. I think everyone has an opinion about it. We are supposed to be the greatest democracy in the world,” she had said, joining the likes of Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan who had raised the same issue.
Besides Quantico, Priyanka will be seen in upcoming Hollywood flick Baywatch scheduled to hit the screens next year. She will share screenspace with Dwayne ‘Rock’ Johnson and Zac Efron.
