Ustad Pyarelal Wadali, the younger one of the Wadali Brothers duo fame, died of cardiac arrest today in Amritsar, Punjab. He was 75.
Puranchand Wadali and Pyarelal Wadali, the legendary Wadali Brothers have charmed the audience with their soulful Sufi and Punjabi folk renditions for over four decades. Pyarelal Wadali passed away in Fortis Hospital, Amritsar where he was admitted on Thursday.
The brothers belong to Guru ki Wadali village, 8 kms from Amritsar. The elder brother, Puranchand Wadali trained in the Patiala Gharana of Hindustani classical music and taught the younger one, Pyarelal Wadali.

Starting their singing career in 1975 from Harballah temple, Jallandhar, the duo entered Bollywood with Pinjar (2003). Later, they also sang Rangrez Mere in Tanu Weds Manu (2011) and Ik Tu Hi Tu Hi in Mausam (2011).
But their most popular rendition was Tu Maane Ya Naa Maane Dildara (2004), which featured in MTV Coke Studio Season 1 (2011) as well. They won Sangeet Natak Academi Award in 1992.
