Race 3 to Deadpool 2: 9 sequels that are all set to make 2018 a splendid new year

Salman Khan and Bobby Deol in Race 3 to Ryan Reynolds and Josh Brolin in Deadpool 2, 2018 will be a special year for sequels.

The new year brings with it a whole new promise of the most entertaining films for cinephiles. And since franchises are a raging success – even for horror films like Insidious 3 (which released this week) – we decided to compile a list of the of the most exciting sequels that will release in 2018.

Fasten your seat-belts, cos 2018 is looking amazing in this list:

1. 2.0
Shankar’s sequel to his movie Enthiran has been in the making for more than two years now. And we can’t wait to see Rajinikanth’s Chitti take on a new villain which appears to be a rodent-like creature played by Akshay Kumar.

The music of this epic film is nothing less than epic! Have you heard it? @2Point0movie music out now – https://t.co/6NbXrEUmMn pic.twitter.com/05S5beMO0Y

2. Baaghi 2
Believe it or not, the original Baaghi was a big hit. Apparently, a part of the audience would legit pay money to see Tiger Shroff do backflips and beat the shit out of some underpaid extras. Any way, there’s a second one coming out.

Get Ready To Fight guys as Rebels For Love are all geared up to arrive soon! #SajidNadiadwala’s #Baaghi2 to release on March 30 2018. @khan_ahmedasas @DishPatani @NGEMovies @FoxStarHindi#Baaghi2onMarch30 pic.twitter.com/JJfBXpIlCV

3. Race 3
Abbas-Mustan made a half-decent original film with Saif Ali Khan and Akshaye Khanna. And that evolved into the preposterous Race 2 starring Saif and John Abraham (UGH). But wait… the third one has Bhai and an in-shape Bobby Deol. So, this might just about be the wake up call that Bobby’s career needed.

When the hard work starts to show!! Thanks @BeingSalmanKhan for the motivation .. #Race3 @RameshTaurani @tipsofficial @SKFilmsOfficial pic.twitter.com/hBpYrSgluQ

4. X Men: Dark Phoenix
After the underwhelming X Men: Apocalypse, it remains to be seen how much longer will the studios keep bankrolling the X Men movies. Centered around Jean Grey (played by Sophie Turner) the film will McAvoy, Fassbender reprise their roles of Charles Xavier and Magneto.

5. Deadpool 2
After the hasty exit of TJ Miller from the sequel, things looked like they would dwindle. However, Josh Brolin’s mean-looking Cable and a hilarious second teaser means that this is a sequel worth watching out for.

6. Sicario 2: Soldado
The film does not have the original director Denis Villeneuve, but it surely has managed to retain the most interesting component of the original. A trailblazing Benecio Del Toro will start a war with the Mexican cartels with Josh Brolin by his side. I’m super curious.

7. Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald
Now that the controversy over Johnny Depp playing Grindelwald has been ignored settled, let’s marvel at how evil he looks in the posters of the film. Oh, and Jude Law as Albus Dumbledore has ensured a double whammy for the Potterheads.

8. Mission Impossible 6
Christopher McQuarrie is making an encore in what happens to be a first for the Mission Impossible series. The film apart from seeing Tom Cruise and Rebecca Ferguson reprising their roles from Rogue Nation, will also see Superman Henry Cavill in the film sporting a ‘stache.

Aside from my fashionable nipple attachments this didn’t feel so bad. Turns out that behind me is a 1980ft almost sheer drop. I say “turns out” but my adrenaline was extremely aware of it at the time! Seriously though, I am so appreciative of all the incredible places that this movie has taken me and all of the wild and wonderful things that it has asked me to do. #MI6 #MoustacheImpossible #Norway

9. Avengers: Infinity War
Quite possibly the biggest film of the year, MCU will drop the first edition of the Infinity War films where Thanos (played by Josh Brolin) will make his way to Earth and it is upto the Avengers and their comrades from the MCU to stand up to the Gods of Gods.

Give it up for 2018!
