The promotional song for John Abraham and Sonakshi Sinha-starrer Force 2 is out. Titled Rang Laal, it is a ‘standing ovation to the unsung heroes of Indian army’ keeping in light the recent Uri attack. A song full of passion, patriotism, energy and strength, Rang Laal is sung by Dev Negi and John Abraham and the music is given by Gourav Roshin.
The trailer of the action-packed film got released a few weeks back and generated a mixed response. Both John and Sonakshi are playing cops in it who are on a mission to save the lives of RAW agents. Force 2 seems to have hit a perfect chord with Rang Laal considering the current situations in the country. There’s wave of nationalism around and the makers have tried to contribute to this wave. Rang Laal signifies the aggression and unity among countrymen in a musical way. It also brings an interesting colour pattern visually.
Except, one can’t ignore John and Sonakshi screaming overtly in the video. The lyrics of the song speak of courage and ‘enough-is-enough’ attitude, especially John’s monologue — “Seh liya bas seh liya, khamoshiyon me bohot reh liya… Ab dil ka shor sun, irade kuch aur sun.”

Talking about the song at the launch event in Mumbai, John revealed that he had tears in his eyes while recording Rang Laal. It was director Abhinay Deo and producer Vipul Amrutlal Shah who asked him to lend his voice to the song, John said. However, he accepted that he himself was keen on singing the song once he heard it. It took three days for the team to shoot the entire video. Sonakshi said that the song gives her goosebumps every time she hears it.
