We are living in strange times. While half the country is worried about a possible nuclear war, the other half is concerned about trivial things like people having some fun at a concert.
The Vh1 Supersonic music festival was already scheduled to take place over the weekend that followed the Pulwama attack. IANS reported that a bunch of right wing organisations, including Bajrang Dal and Shiv Sena, had allegedly threatened to disrupt the event if it was not cancelled. But, due to heavy police protection, the event went on without any incidents.
But according to a latest report, a complaint has been filed against the organisers of the concert. It is to be noted that American music producer and DJ, Marshmello, observed a two-minute silence in honour of the lives lost, before starting his gig.
As per the same report, Rajiv Mittal of the Akhil Bhartiya Hindu Kranti Dal allegedly claimed, “Musical shows are meant for celebration, not when there is sadness across the country. This is not acceptable,” referring to the Pulwama attack, where 40 CRPF personnel lost their lives.
