The first song of the Zaira Waseem and Aamir Khan-starrer Secret Superstar is out. Song titled Main Kaun Hoon, is full of innocent emotions. The song, with simple yet powerful lyrics, describes the urge to fulfill one’s dreams. In the song, Zaira aka Insia, can be seen secretly recording her first YouTube video. It has been sung by 16-year-old Meghna Mishra. The music is composed by Amit Trivedi & lyrics have been penned by Kausar Munir.
Helmed by Advait Chandan, Secret Superstar, traces the journey of Insia, who wants to be a singer. The story is about a 14-year-old Muslim girl from Vadodara, Gujarat, who chooses a different route to fulfill her dream. She takes the help of a burqa in order to hide her identity from her family while recording online videos of her singing. Her father is quite conservative and even breaks her guitar, considering Insia’s dreams unbecoming of a good Muslim woman.
Produced by Aamir Khan, Kiran Rao, Zee Studios and Akash Chawla, Secret Superstar is slated to hit the theatres this Diwali, on October 19. Recently, the makers unveiled the poster of the film that read “Dream Dekhna To Basic Hota Hai”.

Zaira was last seen in Aamir’s Dangal that released last year. She received the National Award in best Supporting Actress category. Interestingly, Secret Superstar is clashing with Rohit Shetty’s Golmaal Again.
