Vishal Bhardwaj’s Rangoon is making headlines for all the right reasons. From its trailer to songs, everything about this film is gaining appreciation from the audience. The sneak-peek of Rangoon looks intriguing and the hard work gone behind the making is surely commendable.
Recently, we came to know that Shahid Kapoor, who will be seen playing the role of an army officer, hired an ace shooter to practice with and learn from. The actor trained with Ronak Pandit, who won gold in the Men’s 25m Standard Pistol category at the 2006 Commonwealth Games. To make his role more realistic Shahid underwent a strict training and graduated from basic to advanced level.
And now the actor has found a friend in commando Bomi, who was stationed in Arunachal Pradesh while shooting for the film.
According to reports, Bomi’s responsibility was to take care of Shahid, while the cast and crew shot at Pasighat in Arunachal Pradesh. Most of the shooting of Rangoon has been done in the remote valleys of Arunachal to give it a feel of the 40s.

Eventually, the two became really close friends during that time. So and so, that Bomi even requested to travel with him to their schedule in Rohtang Pass. In an interview with IANS, a source close to the film said:
Shahid and Bomi spent several days together while shooting Rangoon. Shahid was very interested in getting to know his life and the challenges soldiers face. He has a lot of admiration for our security forces and was happy to see Bomi enjoy the shoot so much. In fact, Shahid ensured the commando travelled with the team to the next schedule and gifted him a leather jacket and a pair of boots.
