After enjoying a four-day long holiday weekend, Ilayathalapathy Vijay’s Tamil film Bairavaa is doing decent business at the Box Office. Written by Bharathan and produced by Bharathi Reddy under Vijaya Productions, Bairavaa stars Rajini Murugan fame Keerthy Suresh in the female lead. The film also starred Aparna Vinod, Jagapati Babu and Mahendra.
On Monday morning, Vijaya Productions, the production banner which Bairavaa has been bankrolled officially confirmed on Twitter that their Pongal release hits the coveted Rs 100 crore mark worldwide in 4-theatrical days. The update has gone viral across the social media and Vijay fans wasted no time to celebrate their superstar’s record breaking success by trending Bairavaa on Twitter. The action-entertainer also helped Vijay to emerge the top Tamil actor to have maximum Rs 100 crore Tamil grossers. Bairavaa is Vijay’s fourth film to hit the century mark after Thuppakki, Kaththi and Theri and Ilayathalapathy beats none other than Thalaiva Rajinikanth to do so.
However, the official figures revealed by Bairavaa makers had stunned the entire Tamil film industry as well as the trade circle. A Rs. 20 crore plus difference is showing between the official figures revealed by makers and the Box Office numbers revealed by trade.
As per Box Office report, the all-India collections of Bairavaa is approximately Rs 65 crore. Bairavaa has minted Rs 47 crore from its four-day weekend in Tamil Nadu. At the Kerala Box Office, the Vijay starrer has grossed Rs 9 crore while at Karnataka Bairavaa has raked in Rs 5 crore.
Bairavaa has done impressive collections overseas as well, especially at Malaysia where the film had recorded Rs 4.88 crore to overpower the collections of Vijay’s 2016 blockbuster Theri.
