Tara Sutaria recently revealed that she is gearing up for her international debut next year. The thing is, many don’t know that she has been trying for quite some time. She auditioned for Disney’s live-action version of Aladdin, but ended up losing the role of Jasmine to Naomi Scott.
Now a clip of her singing the iconic ‘A Whole New World’ has resurfaced on the internet and people cannot believe how flawlessly Sutaria performed for her audition.
Some going so far as to say that her singing’s so good, it seemed like she was lip syncing to the original.
Sutaria once served as the ambassador of Walt Disney India and made her acting debut as a child actor with Disney India’s Big Bada Boom in 2010, before going on to star in The Suite Life of Karan & Kabir, the Indian adaptation of the popular American show The Suite Life of Zack & Cody.
Another clip of her singing an opera has been doing the rounds again when she performed on the show, Entertainment Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega.
But instead of making her film debut with Aladdin, Sutaria got to play second fiddle to star kid Ananya Pandey in Student Of The Year 2, despite having more expressions on her face than Tiger Shroff and Pandey combined.
According to a Hindustan Times report, Sutaria hasn’t given up on her Hollywood debut, “It’s a really exciting time for cinema now with so much crossover happening. There are amazing films being made the world over, and artistes from different parts of the world are collaborating. I’m looking forward to doing an international film, but don’t think that can happen before next year. I’m keeping myself updated regarding the films that are being made and the auditions that are happening.”
Nevertheless, Sutaria has two more films lined up, including the Hindi remake of the Telugu film RX100 where she has been paired up with yet another star kid, Suniel Shetty’s son Ahan.
Sutaria, who hopes to get a chance to sing for one of her upcoming films, added, “Once that (the RX100 remake) is done, I will start auditioning again for international films.”
