Divyanka Tripathi is clearly upset with the rise in the number of rapes in India. The TV actress took to Twitter to voice her concern and tagged Prime Minister Narendra Modi in her tweets. The Yeh Hai Mohabbatein star wrote she was scared of having a daughter because she would be worried about safety. She stressed on not wanting a boy child but the latest incidents have forced her to rethink.
The actress made these raging comments after it was reported a minor girl was raped as she was going to school after Independence Day celebrations in Chandigarh. Divyanka asked why are there no gruesome punishments to such crimes? She said women should stop voting for any party as their safety is not important.
Reports suggested the 12-year-old girl was raped by a man at around 8:15 in the morning. A police investigation has been initiated in the case and they are tapping CCTV footages for clues. This incident is definitely shocking and it mirrors the sorry state of women in the country.

Divyanka T Dahiya (@Divyanka_T) August 16, 2017
For what must we vote? 70 years of independence hasn’t set us free! All parties must WAKE UP NOW! Every woman deserves security! https://t.co/ozvAboOsob
