Kamya Punjabi has refused to listen to court’s orders regarding the release of her film based on the life of Pratyusha Banerjee. The Balika Vadhu actress committed suicide on 1 April last year. The short film titled Hum Kuch Keh Na Sake is said to be based on Pratyusha’s battle with depression. After the trailer of this short film made its way on the web, Rahul Raj Singh, Pratyusha’s boyfriend knocked the door of the court asking for a stay order on the release.
Rahul Raj Singh also demanded a compensation of Rs 1 crore from the makers. After his request, the court is said to have granted the stay order. The court asked makers to not release the film till they record their statements.
However, Kamya seems unaffected by this. When DNA contacted her for her views on the matter, Kamya said she would release the film today, come what may.
Nothing can stop me. I will see you all at 4 pm today. I am definitely showing the film to everyone
Earlier too, Kamya lashed out at Rahul when he claimed the Bigg Boss contestant was doing it for money. Kamya had said:
So, did he know that she was going to end her life? Did he know that she was so depressed that she would commit suicide? Tell him to keep his mouth shut. I am not answerable to the world and him

Pratyusha’s suicide shocked the entire television industry to the core. Hailing from Jamshedpur, Pratyusha shot to stardom after she grabbed the lead role in Balika Vadhu. After that, she also participated in Bigg Boss and did a couple of serials. Her boyfriend Rahul Raj Singh was the prime accused in this case and was charged with abetting suicide. But, Rahul denied the claims and said it were Pratyusha’s parents whose behaviour towards her forced her to take such a grave decision.
