Meet Kashish Thakur, Roadies Xtreme Jiu Jitsu Expert Who Wants To Train Women In Self-Defense

Born in Hyderabad and brought up in Sonipat, Kashish started his audition with one-hand push-ups, followed by some boxing, pull-ups and some amazing calisthenics moves.

If you have to notice one thing about Kashish Thakur Pundir, it would be his big, contagious smile, which was something that impressed the judges as well in the Roadies Xtreme audition. Though he is one of the most popular contestants in Roadies Xtreme and, reportedly its winner as well, it was just Kashish’s positive attitude and smile that impressed gang leaders and Rannvijay Singha, more than his talent.

Born in Hyderabad and brought up in Sonipat, Kashish started his audition with one-hand push-ups, followed by some boxing, pull-ups and some amazing calisthenics moves. Though judges were already impressed with his martial art prowess and inspiring smile, it was Kashish’s one statement that made him audience’s favourite too.

“People, often, talk about how to punish a rapist but I feel why don’t we just stop rapes,” said Kashish in his audition. “After completing my B-tech in civil engineering, I started pursuing MA where I also started learning Jiu-Jitsu,” he further added. With this thinking, he determines to teach girls the art of self-defense in future.

While talking to InUth, Kashish explained Jiu-Jitsu, “The art finds its origins in Japan and the current version that I practice was developed and modified in Brazil. I train under Apritam Sarkar who was the national champion in amateur MMA championship 2016.”

He further said, “The beauty of Jiu-Jitsu is that anyone at all fitness levels can do it. It requires executing the right techniques and a little bit of strength and technique which can be achieved through regular training.”

Kashish aspires to spread his knowledge about martial arts in India.
