When the news broke out that Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra was going to lead in an American TV series, all her fans lit up with joy. Although a Bollywood actor doing a show/movie in the west wasn’t new, no Indian actor had ever been cast the lead. It was groundbreaking. Our desi girl had gone international. But sadly, her reign seems to be drawing to a close. Quantico, which is currently in the middle of its second season, is failing to impress the audience and may just get cancelled.
It is understood that Quantico is not one of the best shows on TV right now but it is far from being the worst. Yet, the show is failing terribly to keep people glued to it. Ratings are dropping like flies which is surprising as season 2 is undeniably better and the show finally seems to be headed to a good place.

The first half of the first season 1, which was most definitely the worst part of the show, garnered a lot of attention and has the maximum ratings. Ever since, ratings have been falling consistently. Perhaps, it was just the sudden thrill of having a brown girl heading a show that got people excited which discredit any innate value of Quantico.

Recently, the show fell into the ‘likely to be cancelled’ category. According to tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com, the ratings tracker, The Cancel Bear reported a low rating of 0.76. Guess we now know the reason why the show was moved to Monday nights but, all efforts were in vain.

Whether or not the show gets cancelled, America will not end up being Priyanka Chopra’s short, forgettable stint. Priyanka, who plays Alex Parrish on the show, was also cast as the villain, Victoria Leeds, in the upcoming movie Baywatch. The movie releases on May 26. We hope Baywatch will help her regain the screen space.
