Splitsvilla X: Nothing sexy about women 'licking and picking' men, it is outrightly gross

Splitsvilla X has a tagline ‘Catch your Match’ and the show has turned out to be a huge hit among fans. Hosted by Sunny Leone and Rannvijay Singh, it has gained so much popularity that ardent followers tune to watch it every weekend. But, as many people love the show, there is a near equal number of people who also despise it, as this reality TV show often forgets the thin line between sexy and vulgar. A task in one of the recent episodes was so gross that it needs to be called out.

As a part of the Bae-Watch challenge in a recent episode, female contestants were made to lick aphrodisiac food items off the body parts of male contestants. This task was called Lick and Pick, and it was disgustingly vulgar on many levels. Here is how the task went down. Barring Akshita (because she and Sidharth make an ideal couple), all female contestants were made to wear glasses which forbade them from seeing anything. During the task, they were asked to lick the food item off the boy’s body and also guess who the person was. The maximum points a girl would win from this task was three. One for guessing the food item, second for the body part of the man and third for correctly guessing the name of the male contestant.

Sunny and Ranvijay picked up chits carrying the names of the food item, boy’s name, and body part.

When the task happened, we saw contestants like Nibedita licking vanilla ice cream off Priyank’s nose, Anmol licking chocolate syrup off Haneet’s back and Esha licking egg yolk off Baseer’s elbow. How did the makers even think this would qualify as sexy? Tasting food items off people’s bodies and guessing it is not sexy, it’s gross.

While some might argue that couples do such intimate things all the time, but not out in the open. Get a room, people! But asking girls to do lick stuff off someone’s body is not intimate, it is downright derogatory and disgusting.

By the way, it was Naina who won the competition as she guessed it right that she licked peanut butter off Mohit’s neck.

I think it’s time the makers of Splitsvilla came up with better tasks to test the relationship[ between the inmates of the house.
