Sunny Leone pulling up Splitsvilla X contestants for sexist comments is a lesson for all reality show hosts

At a time when sexist comedy and casual flirting with judges and female contestants on shows by male anchors is the norm of the day, Sunny Leone comes across as a breath of fresh air.

Splitsvilla X is a hideous assortment of everything sexist under one roof.

-Women pulling each other down

-Women fighting with women over men

-Women commenting on each other’s clothes

– Objectification of both women and men

– Tasks bordering on BDSM – men being spanked by women and a whole lot of other nauseating stuff.

The only saving grace of the show is this woman.

Sunny regularly faces sexist jibes and deals with them with utmost dignity.

When an interviewer had this to ask:

A cool and calm Sunny retorted with the most epic burn ever

Her response to politicians targeting her for endorsing condom was quite epic too.

On Splitsvilla that thrives on sexism and petty fights, she never loses sight of her values that make her what she is.

So, when a female contestant targeted a male contestant by calling her a ‘woman’ because he tends to gossip around a lot, Sunny gave her an earful.

“It’s wrong. You just put us down. It is not about what you meant to say but what you said. We try to change this attitude mentality every single day. That is what we fight for. Do you know how many people watch this show? Anything you guys do or say, people follow. The little ones follow you, you are the ones who set the example”

The ill-informed contestant might finally understand that gossiping is not a gender-specific attribute.

She also had a piece of advice for women, who have been sexually harassed or cat-called, but find it difficult to open up about it.

Anybody touches you, anybody says anything bad to you, anybody does anything which is inappropriate or enters your space, you must speak up. Whether it is- watch your language, stop, I don’t like this, you have to speak up. That is your duty, you must talk.

Sunny giving a piece of her mind to contestants should be mandatory viewing for all anchors on television today.

Because:
