MTV’s Splitsvilla is one of the most popular youth-based dating reality TV shows in the country. And the fact that it is hosted by Sunny Leone and Rannvijay Singh adds to its buzz. While we have our own favourites from every season, some contestants just leave a mark forever. One such female contestant from season 7 of the show is Scarlett Rose. The model had won the season with (now TV actor) Mayank Gandhi despite having no apparent ‘connection’ with the man. The finale of that season was pretty interesting considering that the respective partners of both the contestants got eliminated and they had to resort to playing the game together in the end.
Interestingly, even before she appeared on the show, Scarlett was a popular face. She was associated with MTV as a VJ and also did some stunning photoshoots. Her Instagram timeline is a proof of the same. Apart from being Splitsvilla 7 winner, Scarlett is also a former beauty queen. She had won the title of Very Queen of Panjim even before entering the show and was a popular bikini model. Scarlett was a runner-up for Miss Goa in the year 2012. Reportedly, she had also done an international music video before trying her luck in various MTV shows. She also bagged the channel’s shows like MTV Fanaah, Kaisi Yeh Yaariyaan among others.
However, even though her claim to fame still remains Splitsvilla 7, Scarlett was once quoted as saying that the show wasn’t really meant for her. She said:
Personally, Splitsvilla 7 was not meant for me, because I like my personal space a lot. I love my privacy and I hate someone invading it.I missed my bed, sleeping in my own house, getting up when I want to, sleeping when I want to. There, we had a schedule that we had to strictly adhere to. We did not have access to mobile phones or internet for one whole month. I don’t like someone listening to what I’m talking or being watched – everything that I do from morning till night, people can see it on national television. That is one reason why I didn’t want to do the show but then it was like a task. I realized that if I don’t do it now, I’ll never get a chance to do this again. So I said lets go ahead and see what happens.
