Seems like Indian Television is now exploring new genres leaving the typical saas-bahu sagas aside. And the one best example we have is DD National’s show Main Kuch Bhi Kar Sakti Hoon, which has now become India’s most watched TV programme. Unlike other shows, the show throws light on many important subjects including women’s empowerment, sex education and other. It addresses severe challenges faced by women in our country. And despite dealing with such important issues like this, which lack masala in its content, DD’s this show managed to clock a staggering viewership of 400 million. And with this reportedly the channel sets a new record by reaching out such a huge numbers of viewers, and it is also being said that it has the highest viewership of any other show currently on Indian television.

Featuring women in strong roles, Main Kuch Bhi Kar Sakti Hoon is about a woman Dr. Sneha. She stands against the social evil of the society and helps women in the village to come out and fight for their rights. It also narrates the story of the doctor who leaves behind her lucrative career in Mumbai to work in a small village for the upliftment of the women. While the season one of the show consists 52 episodes, season two comprises 79 episodes. Dr. Sneha continues her crusade to ensure that the finest quality of healthcare is accessible to everyone.

Launched in 2014, it is being said that the show has been endorsed by several Bollywood celebrities like Sharmila Tagore, Shabana Azmi, Farhan Akhtar and Soha Ali Khan involved with advocating social causes. Award-winning actor/director, Feroz Abbas Khan is the creator of the show. It airs every Tuesday and Wednesday at 10.30 AM on DD India and every Saturday and Sunday at 7 PM on DD National.
