Jr NTR’s much-anticipated film, Jai Lava Kusa is slated to hit the big screen on September 21 and the trade is expecting the film to embark on a record-breaking start at the Box Office. The film, which features Jr NTR in a triple role will release on approximately 1100 theaters in Andhra Pradesh and Nizam, 600 theaters in Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and other parts of India.
The advance booking of Jai Lava Kusa opened to a thunderous response on Monday with tickets selling like hot cakes in Andhra Pradesh, Nizam, and Karnataka. The distribution rights of the action entertainer have been sold for Rs 80.50 crore, thereby emerging as the second highest of all time for a regional film after Mahesh Babu’s SPYder, which is sold for Rs 103 crore.
Jai Lava Kusa is expected to emerge as the biggest Non-Baahubali opener of all time by surpassing the current record holder, Khaidi No.150, which stars megastar, Chiranjeevi in lead. The film would also emerge as the biggest opener of all time for Jr NTR as his last release, Janatha Garage raked in Rs 32.10 crore (Gross) on its opening day.
Given the buzz, hype and anticipation for Jai Lava Kusa, we expect the film to collect in the range of Rs 38 to 40 crore (gross) on its opening day at the Box Office in Andhra Pradesh, Nizam and Karanataka.

The film’s earnings would have to exceed Rs 125 crore in India to be termed a hit at the Box Office. While the opening is bound to be record breaking, it would be interesting to see the kind of word of mouth the film carries. Given the dynamics of Box Office down south, the first day would end up being the highest ever for the film, and the collections would witness a routine drop of 40 to 45% on the second day.
