Salman Khan is all geared up for his one of the most anticipated releases this year — Tubelight. Most of the Salman Khan films have a run time of around three hours. However, Tubelight has a shorter run time.
According to the reports published by the leading daily, the length of Tubelight has been cut short just a week before its release. The film’s original run time has been chopped off by 16 minutes from a time of two hours and 35 minutes, which means Tubelight is Salman’s shortest film in recent times.
The actor’s last release Sultan was two hours, 50 minutes long, while Bajrangi Bhaijaan was two hours, 43 minutes long. His Prem Ratan Dhan Payo that released during Diwali on 2015 along with Sonam Kapoor was over three hours long.

The report in the daily quoted a source saying: “Tubelight was edited and fixed at a run time of two hours and 35 minutes. But later, the team decided to cut the film by 14 more minutes just a week before its release. Usually the Kabir Khan’s films are lengthier than the stipulated two hours that the multiplex-viewing audience favours. His last film Bajrangi Bhaijaan was nearly three hours long and worked just fine.”
Directed by Kabir Khan, Tubelight is a story of Laxman Singh Bisht’s quest for his brother who goes missing during the 1962 Indo-China War. The film also features Chinese actress Zhu Zhu, late Om Puri and Mohammad Zeeshan Ayyub in pivotal roles.
The film is set to release on June 23.
