The Viral Fever CEO Arunabh Kumar has finally been booked for molestation on the basis of the complaint by a victim. A lawyer named Rizwan Siddiqui filed the third party FIR against Kumar.”I have filed a complaint. The complaint would translate into FIR hopefully by tomorrow (Friday). I have filed the complaint with the women’s commission as well,” Siddiqui told IANS.
“In these kinds of cases, not a lot of women want to come forward and take any kind of action because they are so scared and worried about their name and reputation… So I also came forward,” he added.
Arunabh Kumar landed himself in trouble when an anonymous blogger ‘The Indian Fowler’ claiming to be an ex-female staffer, had accused Kumar of sexually harassing her during her stint at entertainment channel The Viral Fever (TVF). Soon, more women came out in open and accused Kumar of sexual harassment at the workplace. TVF came out with a statement saying they would look into the matter and investigate. On the other hand, Kumar stoked a fresh controversy when he defended himself, saying complimenting beautiful women is not a crime.
On March 16, Siddiqui had filed complaint against Arunabh Kumar. He also wrote a Facebook post in which he urged the victims to come out in the open and assured them of legal assistance while keeping their identities undercover.
