House of Cards
Starring Kevin Spacey, Robin Wright, Kate Mara (till season 2), Corey Stoll, Michael Kelly, Sakina Jaffrey and Kristen Connolly, this Golden Globe Award-winning series focuses on a Congressman and his wife as they attempt to climb the political ladder in the White House.
Marvel’s Daredevil
Based on the Marvel superhero Daredevil, the series outlines the story of a blind lawyer Matt Murdock, who has heightened superhuman senses and uses it to his advantage to fight crime at night.
Brahman Naman
An Indian sex comedy film, Brahman Naman follows a group of young men in 1980s Bangalore as they set out to hunt for women who would alleviate their malady – their virginity. The film was screened at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival.
Marvel’s Luke Cage
Another Netflix series based on Marvel Comics, the series follows the life of former convict Luke Cage (Mike Colter) who attains superhuman strength and unbreakable skin following a science experiment. The show also stars Mahershala Ali, Simone Missick and Theo Rossi and premiered in September 2016.
The Crown
Claire Foy stars as Queen Elizabeth II in this biographical drama series. The Crown tells the story of the Queen of England from the early days of her marriage to current day.
Stranger Things
The show is set in 1980s Hawkins, Indiana, where the town experiences certain mysterious disappearances. Things get stranger when a young girl named Eleven, who possesses psychokinetic powers, appears seemingly out of nowhere. The show stars Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo and Caleb McLaughlin.
Master of None
Aziz Ansari stars in this comedy-drama TV series as Dev Shah, a 30-year-old actor whose career doesn’t seem to take flight – with his only notable work being a Go-Gurt commercial. Also featuring Noël Wells, Eric Wareheim, Kelvin Yu and Lena Waithe, the series premiered in November 2015 with its season 2 coming out in May this year.
