Legendary actor Vinod Khanna is in the hospital since Friday after complaining of severe dehydration. The hospital wherein he was admitted had released a statement saying that he was recovering and would be discharged soon. However, a picture of him doing rounds on social media left everyone in shock. The 70-year-old actor was looking weak alongside his wife and son. There were news reports of him suffering from cancer.
Bollywood actors like Irrfan Khan expressed shock over his condition, suggesting if needed he would donate one of his organs to the iconic actor. Filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt too wished him good health and a speedy recovery.
Finally, the hospital has released an official statement on the health condition of Khanna.
“Mr Vinod Khanna was admitted to Sir HN Reliance Foundation Hospital on Friday with severe dehydration. He is under care of our doctors and has responded positively to the treatment and is now stable. His family thanks his well wishers for the good wishes and requests to respect their privacy,” the statement read.
Khanna was last seen in Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Dilwale in 2015, wherein he played the superstar’s father. He will be seen in Ek Thi Rani Aisi Bhi in which he plays the king of Gwalior. Besides being an actor, he is a sitting Lok Sabha MP from Gurdaspur. Previously, he also served as a minister of state in Atal Bihari Vajpayee-led NDA government.
