Watch: How Sakshi Tanwar became Aamir Khan's Daya Kaur in Dangal

From TV’s most popular bahu to being Mr. Perfectionist Aamir Khan’s wife in Dangal, Sakshi Tanwar is one name that doesn’t need any introduction in the film industry. After the trailer of the film was released, Sakshi was highly praised for her incredible acting skills and fluent Haryanvi accent. In fact, Aamir Khan on many occasions has praised Sakshi for being an excellent performer.

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Dangal stars Aamir Khan in the lead role and Sakshi will be seen playing the role of his wife and a mother to four kids. You will be surprised to know that it was Aamir Khan’s mother who suggested Sakshi’s name for the film.

The makers of the film recently released a video titled On Set With Sakshi Tanwar, in which Sakshi mentioned every detail about her character and her experiences while shooting the film. In the video, Nitesh Tiwari confessed that when Aamir suggested Sakshi’s name for the film, he was not quite convinced. But after seeing her amazing performance in the auditions, he immediately said yes.

Aamir also took to Twitter on Tuesday and complimented Sakshi for being such an amazing actor and co-star. He wrote:

The actress also gave many interesting details about her character Daya Kaur, love for Haryanvi accent and transition from a loving wife to being a caring mother in the films. Sakshi also recalled how she thought that it was a prank when she first got a call for the auditions of Dangal.
