Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be on a two-day Gujarat visit from April 16. He will begin his tour with a roadshow in Surat in the evening and to welcome PM Modi in grand style, an 11-km-long sari depicting the welfare schemes his government has launched has been made.
The entire city is filled with joy and several programs will be organised to mark PM Modi’s presence. 600 cutouts displaying government schemes, hoardings at 35 locations, 5 gate structures, 9 arch-shaped gate structures are prepared to welcome him.
Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) has laid out the red carpet, and private companies have pitched in with cutouts and fibreglass statues of own.
According to the news agency ANI, “an 11-km-long sari depicting the welfare schemes his government has launched till now. The sari runs along the road from the airport to the Circuit House in Surat.”
Meanwhile, the Patidars were planning to hold protests ahead of PMs visit and as a preventive measure, police have detained over 1,600 listed.
Narendra Modi also seemed equally excited as the people of Surat before his visit. Giving detailed information about his itinerary, PM Modi took to Twitter and wrote, “I have been seeing on social media & in the news about a series of events being held across Surat & nearby areas in the run-up to my visit.”

PM Modi will stay at the circuit house overnight.
PM also said he will inaugurate an inaugurated Rs 400-crore Kiran Multi Super Specialty Hospital and Research Centre in Surat and a diamond manufacturing unit at Ichhapore.
“Tomorrow in Surat, will inaugurate a multi-speciality hospital at Katargam and a diamond manufacturing unit at Ichhapore,” the prime minister tweeted.

Then PM Modi will go to Bijapur village of Tapi district to inaugurate a cattle feed plant and ice-cream plant of Surat District Cooperative Milk Producers Union.
“At another programme in Bajipura tomorrow will inaugurate SUMUL cattle field plant & lay the foundation stone for other projects at SUMUL Dairy,” he said.

Later, he will visit Silvassa in the Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli. There he will inaugurate government projects and distribute assistance to beneficiaries.

He further said that he will go to Botad to “dedicate to the nation Phase 1 (Link-2) of SAUNI Yojana and lay the foundation stone of Phase 2 (Link 2) of SAUNI Yojana.”
