Days after the assembly elections on 117 seats held in Punjab, about twenty-five live bombs were recovered near a police station in Ludhiana area on February 13.
As stated by the investigating team, the recovered ammunitions are mostly rocket launchers which were recovered from an empty plot near Dehlon town on the Malerkotla-Ludhiana road.
Area’s Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Bhupinder Singh in a statement said that the rocket launchers recovered were in the form of scrap. The entire area had been cordoned off and a bomb disposal squad had been summoned, he said. However, a police team has been deployed to investigate the matter.
