26-year-old Navy cadet found unconscious at Naval Academy, dies in hospital

Gudaepa Sooraj, 26-year-old navy cadet died at a hospital in Kerala on Thursday. He was found unconscious on Wednesday evening at the Indian Naval Academy in Ezhimala. The reason of his death is yet to be known. An inquiry has been ordered into the death the young cadet.
According to NDTV, Gudaepa Sooraj was rushed to the Indian Navy hospital “Navjivani”. Early Thursday morning he suffered two cardiac arrests and passed away at 2:30 am on Thursday. He was then shifted to Pariyaram Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) in Kannur. A medical specialist and some medical assistants were there with him.
The family members of Gudaepa Sooraj have been informed about his death. He hailed from Mallapuram district. Police has filed a case of unnatural death and the body has been sent for autopsy at the Pariyaram Medical College Hospital.
The navy cadet was suspended from the academy on the disciplinary grounds. Thr case was then taken to the Kerala court. He was later taken back to the academy after the Kerala high court ruled in his favour.
According to his brother, he was mentally tortured by his seniors after he was re-admitted. Other relatives said that Sooraj wanted to appear for the cadet’s examination but he was allegedly denied permission by his seniors. He then knocked the doors of Kerala High Court. Later, the court gave the verdict in his favour and he was allowed to take the test which he cleared.
