North India is battling sweltering heat as heat wave conditions continue to prevail. Out of the 15 world’s hottest places,
eight are from India as per a weather monitoring report. Churu in western Rajasthan has recorded the maximum temperature of 48.9 Celsius. A red category alert was issued in Delhi-NCR region on 31 May as the city recorded the hottest day of the season
Heat wave has killed 6,167 people in India between 2010 and 2018. The year 2018 was the warmest in the last century in India
