The crown prince of Abu Dhabi Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who will be the Chief Guest at the Republic Day parade this year, has arrived in New Delhi on January 24.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi received the crown prince Nahyan at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International airport just a while ago.
The visit of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who is also the Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE armed forces, is expected to boost bilateral ties in the key areas of trade and security.
Earlier, more than 60,000 securitymen, including Delhi Police, CAPFs and NSG commandos, had been deployed in the national capital till Thursday evening due to terror threats ahead of Republic Day celebrations, officials said, adding that Police have been asked to be alert about suspicious activities.
