'Accused in Nabha jail break practised to stay without food for weeks'

Last year in November six accused managed to flee from a high security Nabha jail in Patiala

One of the six criminals, an alleged Khalistani militant  who escaped Nabha jail Kashmir Singh had practised for several months to survive in tough circumstances. He used to live without food for many days and hide in jungles and narrow caves, said the chargesheet filed by Delhi Police.

Last year in November six accused managed to flee from a high security Nabha jail in Patiala and Singh was one of them. Others were Khalistan Liberation Force commander Harminder Singh Mintoo  and gangsters Vicky Gounder, Gurpreet Sekhon, Kulpreet Singh Neeta.

Out of six all four have been arrested. Mintoo was arrested from Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway station in Delhi after which a case under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and the Arms Act was registered against him. However, Kashmir Singh is still on the run. Police said that Singh might be hiding in neighbouring states of Delhi or can be hiding in Delhi.

He is wanted in  the murder of Shiv Sena leader whom he killed in the year 2015 in Gurdaspur. After escaping the prison, both Singh and Mintoo went to Haryana and cut their beard and moustaches, as per the chargesheet filed by the Delhi Police.

During interrogation, Mintoo said that Kashmir Singh was rehearsing for jail break for months and  practised to live without food,  said a police source. Mintoo also told that Singh hardly talked to any other prisoner and use to stay without food for weeks. As per a source, police named 14 persons including Mintoo for their role in the jail break conspiracy.
