On Twitter, even a harmless banter can land you in an unexpected controversy. Mahindra Group chairman Anand Mahindra faced the ire of Telugu star Balakrishna’s fans after he put out a funny tweet in response to a video clip in which the 57-year-old star is seen lifting a Mahindra Bolero with one hand.
Mr Mahindra tweeted, “Haha. Now all our service workshops won’t need any hydraulic lifts anymore to do Bolero check-ups!!”

The Bolero in question weighs at least 1,600 kilograms, and just imagine the kind of superhuman strength required to lift it, with just one hand.
The witty tweet did not go down well with Telugu star’s fans who immediately started trolling Mahindra with the following hashtags: – #BoycottMahindra & #BanMahindra.
