Days after the gangrape of 23-year-old in Rohtak took the nation by storm, another shocking case has come to light from the same city in Haryana. A 10-year-old has alleged that she was raped by her stepfather and is now 5 months pregnant.
According to reports published by NDTV, the girl informed her mother about her stepfather assaulting her and also told her that she had been threatened not to talk about it. On getting to know about the incident, the mother took the victim to a doctor where it was confirmed that she is pregnant.
The victim’s mother is a migrant labourer from Bihar. She took her daughter to a woman police station and complained about the heinous act. The police have arrested the accused and have registered a case against him.
The medical board of Pandit Bhagwat Dayal Sharma Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (PGIMS), Rohtak will meet on May 15 to examine her condition and decide on what step needs to be taken thereafter.
Earlier, a 23-year-old woman was brutally gangraped in Rohtak’s Industrial Model Township (IMT). Her body with her head smashed was found dumped at a vacant plot in the area. Apart from smashing the victim’s head with a brick, a vehicle had also run over her body before she was dumped in the vacant plot. When she was found four days later, her skull was shatterted into pieces and her body had been bitten by stray dogs. Police have claimed that the victim’s head was smashed so that she cannot be identified.
