In a grim reminder of 2016 Bulandshahr highway gangrape incident, a group of armed robbers allegedly dragged four women of a family and raped them for hours. The assaulters shot dead a man who tried to stop them. The horrific incident took place at Khurja-Jhajhar road in Greater Noida region in the early hours of Thursday.
Four women, who were travelling in the car along with as many men, alleged that they were raped at gun point after they tried to resist the robbery bid, PTI reported. The robbers also looted cash and valuables from the family.
Reacting to the incident Gautam Budh Nagar Senir SSP Love Kumar said, “It’s a heinous crime. An FIR has been registered. A man has been murdered. Four women have alleged gang rape. Police teams are working on the case,” said Love Kumar, senior superintendent of Gautam Budh Nagar.
Meanwhile, the women are being taken for medical examination and the body of the deceased has been sent for the post-mortem. Two other teams are hunting for the suspects.
The criminals reportedly had sprayed the road with nails which forced the driver to pull over the vehicle. As soon as the vehicle stopped, the men attacked the family looting them of cash and valuables at gun point.
Last year in July, a mother and her 13-year-old daughter were waylaid and raped by a group of highway robbers also in Bulandshahr.
