Days after a number of Jawans went on to posted a series of videos online to show the hardships they face, the army has set up a WhatsApp number for its soldiers to share their problems directly with General Bipin Rawat instead to going to social media.
The WhatsApp number that has been created to report all complaints is — +91 9643300008. The officials claimed that even though there are a number of complaint forums and redressal forms available for the army to register their complaints, the army can take the Whatsapp number and register their problems if they wish to do so. It must be noted that it is not only the army officials who can send messages to this numbers but anyone who has the number.
Some of the Army officials are skeptical about the movie considering that the number was now public and can receive messages that are unauthorised and groundless.The officials added that there will no check to on the messages and link that will be sent on this number.
Days after BSF jawan Tej Bahadur Yadav’s series of videos showing the hardship they face at the border went viral on social media, Army Chief General Bipin Rawat came out and said that he will investigate the matter if needed. He further stated that that the jawans should go with their grievances directly to him instead of using social media. He affirmed that the jawans using social media to put their problems forth and also impacts the soldiers fighting on the borders.
Tej Bahadur, who claimed to be from the 29th battalion of the Border Security Force in Jammu and Kashmir, had in a series of videos said that the government has been doing enough to provide the security forces with essential items, but it is the BSF officials who are indulged in the wrong doings.
After the BSF jawan’s video, there have been more videos of posted by soldiers putting forth their grievances on pay and the hardships faced by them on the border.
