Recently, Goswami was granted Y-category security by the Maharashtra government following tip-off by the Intelligence Bureau over threats to his life from Pakistan-based terror groups. A group of 20 guards including two personal security officers will keep vigil on the television anchor from close distance.
Goswami has been quite vocal against terrorism and Pakistan on his daily show ‘Newshour’. The television journalist has often been criticised for his loud tone during the heated debates on current topics, with some panelists even leaving the show midway.
Goswami was associated with Times Now since 2006. Prior to that, he worked with New Delhi Television from 1995 to 2006. Before joining NDTV, he worked with English daily The Telegraph for less than a year.
